Traveling with my dog across the country this winter has been a lot of fun! She has been a great companion the whole time. When she sees me pack up and load the car she gets excited and is ready to go on a new adventure. I started out in Louisiana where the weather was still okay. Louisiana is always a place I like to visit. There is a joie de vivre there that I like, a carefree enjoyment of life that is very relaxing and a lot of fun.
If you go to City Park in New Orleans you will see Cypress trees all over the place. They are so majestic and beautiful to look at as you stroll through the area. Strong and bold with character, they also have exotic looking Spanish moss hanging off the branches. Quite a sight to look at. Abraham Lincoln once said: “Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.” I really like this quote.
After my visit to Louisiana, I started driving up to Ohio and it has not been easy driving up north where we have been having so much snow this winter. I’ve been planning it well most of the time though and getting dry albeit salt covered roads most of the way. In Ohio the scenery was beautiful on days when the sun was shining. The snow glowed such a beautiful white!
As pretty as it was, I have to admit that when I finally drove my car out of the driveway, I went too far to the side and got stuck in the snow. It was not pleasant shoveling myself out! It took a long time and I was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to get out of there without calling Roadside Service, but thankfully I did.
